Little Pea by Amy Krouse Rosenthal

Here cometh a twisted tale: no dessert (veggies) till you have finished your candy!

Its a regular life Little Pea leads, filled with love and laughter. But…..yes reader, a but. Candy before dessert.

Five pieces of candy before a bowl of spinach.

Children discover they are not the only ones who have to endure (!) incomprehensible rules. Candy makes you a “big, strong pea,” Papa says.

Young readers may roll their eyes at that. Or they may wish it was true.

With a sure touch the author gets the message across: “See little one, even veggies have rules about dessert.”

A tale that may leave the young’uns wishing they were ‘little peas’ instead.
